HipHop is a style of dancing which evolved in the 1980s and which remains popular to this day. It is considered a Performance Dance style, and includes Break Dancing.

When taught in schools, it is usually taught as a choreographed team dance, replicating the style of dancing one might see in music videos.

But when listed as a dancestyle for social dancing (in nightclubs), this generally implies a freestyle dance style that is far more casual, but still danced to HipHop music.
