Rumba is a slow romantic latin ballroom dance within the ballroom stream. The name is effectively a misnomer, as it takes its name from a different form of Cuban music & dance. The dance taught as Rumba in ballroom classes is actually a variation of Bolero.

The modern Cuban dance called Rumba is instead a fast dance that can be danced to Salsa music.
