Greetings!

Before the big announcement which follows, I first want to thank all the visitors to Dance-Ottawa.com over the past 7 years. The site had, in fact, grown to the point of becoming unmanageable due to its own popularity. The software used to develop the original site did not allow me to expand its features quickly, and adding new listings were getting next to impossible. I apologize to everyone who wanted to be added to the instructors or dance schools list, or wanted to add an event, and who wasn't listed.

At the same time, over the past year or so, I started noticing the large number of visitors to the site (almost 3000 different people per day, and often 5000 per day in the summer!). Something had to be done!

Today, we are announcing 'THE NEW' DANCE-PLACES.COM!

Using the latest technology, we have kept many of the old features, but added several important new ones. The site has a whole new look and some unique features...

When logged in, anyone can add their own listings to the site!
Dance Schools, Dance Associations, Bands & DJs, Dance Events & Venues!

Where possible we have added Google maps for every organization, venue or event.

We have finally added the newsletter, as you can see :)

THIS IS UNQUE -> The site can now provide personalized real distances from your current location to any venue listed on the site! Now we can know which places we can walk to, to go dancing! Just set upiur location in 'My Account' while logged in.

We have added YouTUBE videos, and a whole new section on dance-styles.

We have added performance dance styles to the site - Ballet, Jazz, Tap, HipHop & Bellydancing. Its not just Social Dancing anymore!

Every dance style, organization, venue or event is cross-referenced to others so you can quickly find the dance event you are looking for, and how far away it is.

ALSO UNIQUE -> As every change is made to the site, it is logged to the front page. This way you can quickly scroll back to catch up on all the latest dance news & event changes.

And its not Just Ottawa anymore! We now accept lisitings from anywhere, and Dance-Kingston.com, Dance-Toronto.com, and Dance-Montreal.com members will also be using the new site! What are the good nightclubs in Montreal these days anyway? :)

Finally... the new site also looks kinda cool :)
